The Hettinger County Huskies wrapped up their 2025 football season on October 17 with a tough loss to the Napoleon/Gackle/Streeter Imperials. The setback closed the year with a 4–5 record, marking the first time in four seasons the Huskies missed the playoffs.
The season opened with early adversity as Hettinger County fell to Kidder County and dropped a nailbiter to Richardton-Taylor/Hebron, starting 0–2. The Huskies quickly bounced back, rattling off three straight wins — including a hard-fought victory over Hettinger/Scranton to claim the Range War Trophy for the third consecutive year. Wins over Standing Rock and Beach followed, putting the Huskies back in the playoff hunt.
Despite strong efforts, losses to Grant County/Flasher and Linton/HMB set up an uphill climb. A gritty win over New Salem gave the team late-season momentum, but the finale against Napoleon/Gackle/Streeter dashed postseason hopes.
The program bids farewell to an outstanding senior class: Mark Fitterer, Jordan Jung, Aiden Rafferty, Brandon Bowman, McKoy Stecher, and Tucker Bock — players who have left their mark on Huskies football through leadership, toughness, and pride.
